CWR for SGAE
SGAE administers performance and mechanical rights in Spain. Spain's society.
History
Founded in 1899, SGAE weathered the industry's biggest modern governance scandal: the 'Wheel' scheme of night-time TV airplay rigged to farm royalties, which led CISAC to expel it in 2019 and readmit it in 2021 after reforms — the only time CISAC has expelled a major member.
CWR at SGAE
SGAE takes CWR in the standard CISAC pattern; foreign catalogs commonly arrive through Spanish sub-publishers, built from the publisher's CWR.
Publishers deliver CWR files to SGAE directly (as members, affiliates, or sub-publishers). Like nearly every CISAC society, SGAE works in the CWR 2.1 / 2.2 era — the versions in production use worldwide since the standard displaced the proprietary registration formats of the 1990s. Per-society delivery profiles do change, so confirm the current version and any local quirks before a first delivery.
