CWR for SACEM
SACEM administers performance and mechanical rights in France. France's society, covering both right types.
History
SACEM is the world's oldest authors' society, born of an 1847 café dispute in which composer Ernest Bourget refused to pay for his drinks while the house orchestra played his music unpaid; the society followed in 1851, and every collecting society on earth descends from the precedent.
CWR at SACEM
A CISAC heavyweight, SACEM helped drive the Common Information System work of the late 1990s from which CWR emerged, and takes CWR directly from publisher members and sub-publishers.
Publishers deliver CWR files to SACEM directly (as members, affiliates, or sub-publishers). Like nearly every CISAC society, SACEM works in the CWR 2.1 / 2.2 era — the versions in production use worldwide since the standard displaced the proprietary registration formats of the 1990s. Per-society delivery profiles do change, so confirm the current version and any local quirks before a first delivery.

Two free checks for your CWR file. Is the file correct? Every record, share and control total against the spec, each problem on its exact line. Do its writers match their registrations? Every writer cross-checked against public registration data, including works registered under another spelling or IPI. Nothing stored: check a file at cwrcheck.com.
