CWR for SUISA

SUISA administers performance and mechanical rights in Switzerland. The society for Switzerland and Liechtenstein.

History

Founded in 1923, SUISA covers both right types for two countries. In 2016 it launched Mint, a multi-territory digital licensing joint venture with SESAC that also runs online licensing for other societies — an emblem of the post-2014 EU market in which societies compete for repertoire.

CWR at SUISA

SUISA takes CWR directly from publishers and sub-publishers; its Mint venture handles online licensing, not registration, so CWR remains the works-data channel.

Publishers deliver CWR files to SUISA directly (as members, affiliates, or sub-publishers). Like nearly every CISAC society, SUISA works in the CWR 2.1 / 2.2 era — the versions in production use worldwide since the standard displaced the proprietary registration formats of the 1990s. Per-society delivery profiles do change, so confirm the current version and any local quirks before a first delivery.
