CWR for MCSC
MCSC administers performance and mechanical rights in China. The Music Copyright Society of China — the mainland's only authorized music collective.
History
Founded in 1992 under the auspices of the Chinese Musicians' Association and the National Copyright Administration, MCSC is the sole authorized music collective management organization in mainland China, in a market whose licensing economy has grown up around streaming platforms rather than broadcast.
CWR at MCSC
Foreign repertoire is administered via reciprocal agreements and local representation; direct foreign CWR delivery is not the pattern. Complete, accurate works data in your CWR is what your representative and MCSC's systems ultimately rely on.
Like nearly every CISAC society, MCSC works in the CWR 2.1 / 2.2 era — the versions in production use worldwide since the standard displaced the proprietary registration formats of the 1990s. Per-society delivery profiles do change, so confirm the current version and any local quirks before a first delivery.
