CWR for IPRS

IPRS administers performance and mechanical rights in India. The Indian Performing Right Society.

History

Founded in 1969, IPRS administers the world's most prolific film-music market. After a turbulent decade of governance disputes it was re-registered as a copyright society under Indian law in 2017 and has since rebuilt its standing with CISAC and the industry.

CWR at IPRS

Foreign repertoire reaches IPRS via sub-publishers and reciprocal agreements; the local registration is generally built from the CWR your representative receives.

Like nearly every CISAC society, IPRS works in the CWR 2.1 / 2.2 era — the versions in production use worldwide since the standard displaced the proprietary registration formats of the 1990s. Per-society delivery profiles do change, so confirm the current version and any local quirks before a first delivery.
